Marco Rubio Scolds Charlie Crist over creation of "Shadow Panels"

I was very tempted to call this story "CHARLIES CZARS"

Charlie Crist is caught in an "unususal activity" by reporter Gary Fineout.

Apparently Charlie Crist believes he can "circumvent" the state nominating the commision by creating his own "panel" to vet the nominees.

Crist's Panel members?:
...The Republican governor — an attorney himself — has turned to state legislators, a former president of the American Bar Association, a retired Florida Supreme Court justice and an NAACP attorney, among others, to interview potential judges already screened by one of the state’s official judicial nominating commissions...

Rubio said it appeared Crist was inviting people to interview judges to win political support in the future.

“It appears the decision is being made to appease certain demographic groups, certain parts of the electorate,’’ Rubio said...

Charlie has time to raise money, eat Whoppers, and put together "shadow commisions"? I wonder what kind of "WHOPPER" he will use to explain this?

Who is running the state of Florida?

UPDATE: More info on "panel participants"

Legislators include Rep. Marcelo Llorente, a Miami Republican, and two Democrats, Sen. Dan Gelber of Miami Beach and Rep. Darryl Rouson of St. Petersburg. All are lawyers, and Gelber is running for attorney general.

Former American Bar Association President Martha Barnett, former Chief Justice Major Harding and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People lawyer Chuck Hobbs, all of Tallahassee, also have taken part in the interviews.

Isaac said the governor did not rely on outside lawyers to interview Supreme Court nominees and denied the panels narrowed the lists of finalists.

Thanks for visiting. Come back often. It's a long way to the primary in August.
